Upper
School Choir

The Upper School Choir meets every day for singing, musicianship development, and music appreciation.  As of October 2007, fourteen students and two teachers are members of the choir.  We hope even more students will join next semester!

The choir has many opportunities to perform.  Chapel services, the Christmas and Spring concerts, the Holiday Pasta Dinner, and the Teen Arts Festival are important performance venues throughout the year.

In choir, we work hard at perfecting our sound and creating beautiful music, but we enjoy the fun that music offers as well.  Tongue-twisters and Disney songs are among our warm-ups each day.  The joy students take from singing and learning about music is the most important aspect of choir.  A lifelong love of music, along with the confidence that comes from performing and striving for perfection in art, are invaluable to students’ present and future.

Piano lessons

Miss Keaton offers private piano lessons to the students of St. Mary’s Hall – Doane Academy .  Half-hour weekly lessons are scheduled during PE or a student’s free period.  The cost is $20 per lesson, paid to the school.  Students have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of piano playing and musicianship during their private lessons.  Currently, Miss Keaton’s schedule of piano lessons is booked, but there is a waiting list.  Interested students or parents should contact Miss Keaton at extension 31 or at pkeaton@thehall.org.
