Do you want the musical potential of your child developed? The Beginner Program is designed for children with no previous stringed instrument experience, this string program combines the Suzuki method with traditional Western teaching methods. The Intermediate - Advanced Program will continue to develop the technique and musicianship of each student.

Lessons will be scheduled during school hours as a convenience to you and your child. Please make every effort to arrive at your lesson on time because lessons are scheduled back to back. *In the event that a lesson must be missed, a call, note or an e-mail from a parent or teacher should be made no later than the 24 hours before your child's lesson.
Two concerts are scheduled, which include the Ensemble and soloists, during the school year.
Spring Concert - May
Intermediate and advanced students are to bring the music they are currently practicing. *The books come with the rentals if you indicated so on the rental form. If you did not purchase the books on the rental form, please do so ASAP. They will need the music books for the first lesson. Books can be purchased through the Music & Arts Centers, Sam Ash or Musictime.com
Students are required to arrive to their lessons prepared with music, music folder, spiral notebook & shoulder rest (violin & viola only). Shoulder rests assist in proper posture and reduce strain on the neck. Students are expected to practice a minimum of 20 minutes a day. More advanced students will need more daily practice time. Weekly Practice Charts must be signed by a parent or guardian. 100 Day Practice Chart - Directions included in the chart. Prizes awarded when chart objective is completed!!! Philip F. Travaline Strings If you wish to purchase an instrument outright, please contact or see me. Please avoid ebay and yard sales, as many of these instruments are lacking in quality of tone, materials, and playability.
1. Be prepared - bring all your music, instrument, rosin, shoulder rest, notebook and pencil. 2. Be excited - no excuses please! 3. Be willing to learn - can’t means I don’t want to! 4. Be quiet - no doodling or talking while your teacher is giving instructions. 5. Be an achiever - practice, practice, practice 6. Be positive - failure is not an option. 7. Be happy - smile even on a rainy day. 8. Be focused - no mind talk. 9. Be a goal setter - what do I want to accomplish today, tomorrow and next year? 10. Be a winner - winners never quit, quitters never win!
