Choir Upper School Choir Students in grades 7-12 are eligible to participate in Upper School Choir. In the Upper School course schedule Choir is offered has an elective course, allowing the students to practice together four times a week. During the course students learn sight-singing, proper vocal technique, basic music theory, and some music history. Doane Academy’s Scholar musicians are selected by their instructor's to join the Tri-M Music Honor Society Honors Choir, the group meets once a week (attach link to clubs). Tri-M is an international honor society recognizing secondary music students for their musical ability, academic excellence, school involvement, and community service. Both the Upper School Choir and Honors Choir perform in a variety of genres including jazz, pop, classical, gospel, liturgical, folk, and even opera. Students participate annually in state and local competitions and performances, including Burlington County Teens Arts Festival, receiving high marks in the past years.
