Philosophy

Athletics at St. Mary's Hall Doane Academy play an integral role in the development of our students. The Athletic Department has developed a program to ensure personal growth and physical activity for all students, grades 6-12. This program embodies the ideals of physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, skill improvement and character development. The commitment to
excellence and leadership provides a backdrop for our students to maximize their academic and athletic potential.

St. Mary Hall competes at the Varsity level (9-12) in the Penn- Jersey Athletic Association in the following sports: Baseball, Boys and Girls Basketball, Cross Country, Boys and Girls Soccer, and Softball. Co-ed Crew and Golf are two sports offered that compete as independents.

Students may begin athletic participation entering 6th grade.Co-ed Soccer and Boys and Girls Basketball are offered and compete in the Middle School Conference of the Penn- Jersey Athletic Association. The Athletic Department seeks to be a community of scholar athletes, coaches and staff whose primary focus is to facilitate academic excellence while also striving to produce teams and individuals who are committed to athletic competition and outstanding performance.

In order to graduate, students must participate in at least one season of competition per school year. Participation in athletics gives the opportunity for our students to balance their academic interests, physical fitness, and social interaction while representing themselves and their school.

Penn Jersey teams include: Akiba Academy (PA), Delasalle (PA), Girard College (PA) International Christian (PA), Life Center (NJ), Mercy Vo- Tech (PA), Pine Forge Academy (PA), Solebury School (PA), St. Marys Hall-Doane Academy (NJ), Villa Victoria (NJ).
